Path Guiding with Vertex Triplet Distributions

We guide the construction of light transport paths in difficult regions by reusing distributions of vertex triplets from previous paths.

Spectral Mollification for Bidirectional Fluorescence

In a fluorescent context, non-fluorescent surfaces are spectral singularities, just like mirrors are singularities in the geometric domain. We enable bidirectional connections between non-fluorescent surfaces in a fluorescent bidirectional path tracer with a spectral regularization approach.

Detecting Bias in Monte Carlo Renderers using Welch’s t-test

We use a statistical test, Welch's t test, to detect bias renderers. The text requires little memory and computational overhead and can detect even small bias at low sample counts.

Wide Gamut Spectral Upsampling with Fluorescence

Given an input RGB tristimulus value, our method automatically provides a mixture of a regular, smooth reflectance spectrum plus a fluorescent part. For highly saturated input colours, the combination yields an improved reconstruction compared to what would be possible relying on a reflectance spectrum alone.

Selective guided sampling with complete light transport paths

We propose a guiding method that constructs new light transport paths based on previous paths from difficult regions.
